How we offered Nordic Business Forum 2022 attendees an immersive data-driven glimpse of the future with a contemporary art piece called Trinity of Tomorrow.

THE CHALLENGE

As one of the official partners of the Nordic Business Forum Helsinki 2022, Avidly had the opportunity to stand out according to its strategy and profile as a modern and creative martech agency. The theme of the event was future-focused leadership, which aligned perfectly with Avidly's focus on technology, creativity and data. With the event being a busy one and attendees having limited time during breaks between speakers, the challenge was to create an experience that would capture their attention.

THE IDEA

The global leadership crisis is deepening due to the alarmingly weak competency to handle the fast-paced challenges organisations are facing. To address this, we wanted to create an engaging and thought-provoking experience for NBF attendees that simultaneously also delivered value and entertainment. So we decided to offer a glimpse into the future with an immersive, data-based art piece called Trinity of Tomorrow. This experiential artwork brought data to life in the form of augmented reality, giving viewers an engaging and thought-provoking insight far into the following decades.

THE DATA

 

To power the experience, we used Futures Platform’s scenario tool to dig into three themes: creativity, technology and data. The tool provided a wide range of data from wild card phenomena to more detailed forecasts. The subjects varied from AI Machine learning to Concept economy, Data consumption, and more.

To ensure that the experience was both entertaining and informative, we handpicked specific trends and scenarios from the profound source data and refined them into short, snackable statements that put viewers at the centre of rapid change.

After experiencing the short content, people were able to access the Futures Platform radar on a website for an opportunity to read more about the backgrounds of the foresights. And for further convenience, we also had the Futures Platform data available on a touchscreen at the event stand.

THE PRESENTATION

 

The content was presented via a mysterious black & neon glowing pyramid, the physical form of Trinity of Tomorrow.

The experience was made interactive and engaging through augmented reality, which was incorporated by using Instagram's Spark AR filter. To experience the AR functionality, all you needed was an Instagram app. The filter was launched by placing your mobile device next to one the pyramid’s sides – all of which had integrated NFC tags.

Each side had its own theme and foresights that were shown randomly via 3D graphics that floated in front of the pyramid.

THE CONCLUSION

 

Thanks to Trinity of Tomorrow’s creative use and presentation of data, we successfully communicated our capabilities as a modern martech agency and at the same time offered Nordic Business Forum attendees an enjoyable, intriguing, and impactful experience.
