Avidly Sessions: How to use video first communication [WATCH NOW]
Key takeaways:
- Be natural, avoid aiming for perfection
This is not a polished marketing video. This is just a video call that's gone to voicemail. A voicenote like you'd send on WhatsApp. It's also a chance to show your natural personality and communication style - so be natural and be yourself. - Keep videos short: Very short
15 seconds, 2 minutes or 4 minutes are optimum. 15 seconds for a quick intro and 'looking forward to our meeting here's a quick thought starter.' Only 2 minutes for 99% of videos you'll make to quickly explain the main point or question you're making. And 4 minutes for more in-depth queries, explanations or work handovers. - Build the habit or it won't stick
I've been offering video communication training since 2018. It always, always, always falls down when people don't build the habit. People see the benefits (check the stats in the video) but the initiative fails when they don't build the habit. Send one video a day for 21 days and you'll see the benefits starting to emerge AND you'll have built the video-first habit.
There are more tips, ideas and stats to back up the power of video first communication in the video. Check it out.
